Scrum Development Team

Professionals who do the work of delivering a potentially releasable Increment of “Done” product at the end of each Sprint.

Accountability for Product Development lies with team as a whole. All decisions taken jointly as a team leading to “shared responsibility”

The Scrum Team is

    • No one (not even the Scrum Master) tells the Development Team how to turn Product Backlog into Increments of potentially releasable functionality
    •  …turn Backlog items into increments
    •  …develop functionality
    •  …make it potentially releasable
  • Cross-Functional
    •  with all the skills as a team necessary to create a product Increment
    • no titles for Development Team members other than Developer
    •  No sub‐teams in the Development Team
  • Size: 6 ±3
    • Fewer than three members decrease productivity
    • Smaller Teams may encounter skill constraints
    • > 9 members requires too much coordination
    • Product Owner and Scrum Master roles are not included in this count unless they are also executing the work of the Sprint Backlog
